Billy Almon: From BirdNote, Bring Birds Back… is back! With a brand new season starting July 30th about your favorite feathered friends — and all of the science and technology connected to them. I’m Billy Almon.
Anika Hazra: And I’m Anika Hazra. This season, we’re looking at the importance of songbirds, parrots, and hummingbirds to human memory; the unexpected impact of corvids like crows and blue jays to ecological restoration; and how researchers are taking inspiration from birds’ biology for innovations like trains and planes.
Billy: Experts discuss their work and how it inspires their activism. From environmental policymaking with Dr. Mustafa Santiago Ali, to the search for radical joy with ornithologist and poet, Dr. J. Drew Lanham.
Anika: Guests like writer adrienne maree brown, Indigenous water expert Dr. Kelsey Leonard and neuroscientist Dr. Erich Jarvis show us why it's important to integrate science into everyday life — and how they've bridged the gap in their own work.
Billy: This season, we're looking to the future. Each and every one of our guests are showing us their own chosen paths to making a better world...
Anika: And we invite you to join us. Subscribe to Bring Birds Back from BirdNote in your favorite podcast app to hear new episodes, starting Wednesday, July 30th.
